Tropical Chiffon Pie

1 env. Knox unflavored gelatin
1/4 c. cold water
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. very strong coffee
1/3 c. sugar
1/4 c. chopped walnuts
1 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. dates, sliced
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. lemon juice
2 eggs, whites beaten stiff & dry
Soak gelatin in cold water 5 minutes. Add sugar, salt, cocoa, hot coffee and lemon juice. Stir until dissolved and cool. When it begins to thicken, add dates, nuts and vanilla. Fold in beaten egg whites, pour into baked pie shell, chill and top with whipped cream.
